Title: “Bombardier Aerospace: Charting the Course of Aviation Technology”
Abstract
Bombardier Aerospace is developing the Learjet 85 Mid-size Business Jet,
the Global 7000 and 8000 Super-Large Business Jets and
the CSeries 110 to 130-pax commercial Jetliners. These
projects require investment and focus in technology
development, aircraft design and product development.
The presentation will discuss some of
the advanced systems technologies developed by
Bombardier that will make these airplanes and others
pillars of 21st century aviation: fly-by-wire,
advanced navigation systems, electric systems, modular
avionics and highly integrated systems.

Quebec government has set a
goal that 95% of public transport in Montreal must use
non polluted energy sources, theMontreal Transit Society, who has already more than 50% of its vehicles using electricity, has an
ambitious plan to electrify its surface network. This
plan includes several projects and of course, several
technological challenges. The presentation will cover
mass transit system engineering challenges, pollution
free smart urban technological planning and
implementation.

Abstract
The presentation will focus on the business needs and the strategic orientation of Hydro Québec supporting the modernisation and the evolution of the electrical network to become a more intelligent one. Technology vision as well as main targets of Hydro Québec technological innovation program will be presented. Concrete examples of innovation projects that are carried out jointly with the business divisions of Hydro-Québec and it’s research partners will also be presented and discussed.
